SKLZ Weighted Nylon Vest - User review

I made this purchase since I had a surgery that prevented me from working out/running for a while. I figured the added weight during the day will at the least help me burn more calories doing just walking around (although, probably very little). Here are few thoughts:

1) Don't expect to look cool wearing this. It looks like a man-bra and your friends WILL point that out. If you can't handle that, buy a full vest, not a half one such as this one.

2) Fit is adjustable and worked well for me. Not too uncomfortable, but don't expect it to be comfortable either (you are adding 10lbs to your shoulders).

3) You WILL have sore shoulders if using it for extended period like I did (10+ hours during the day). Don't use this if you have shoulder/back/neck/knee problems).

4) Adding 10 lbs to your body is pretty noticeable and not that easy of a transition. I can see how it can cause knee problems if used incorrectly. Start with few pounds then add more slowly.

5) Cleaning is bit annoying since you have to take out 20 half pound weights from it before washing.

6) Don't expect to add any more weight than 10 pounds. If you expect to need more weight, then consider another vest that can handle more weights.

7) Did I mention it looks like a man-bra???

Good product as long as you set your expectation/use correctly. Seems to be made well, but can't comment on how long it'll last since I got it recently. ( by: Sean amazon.com)

I use it for working out and running. The weights are evenly distributed enough so it doesn't put undue pressure on any 1 spot. The double Velcro front keeps the vest snug enough that it doesn't bounce when I run. Best feature is the short length. If they made one with heavier weights I'd buy it, but for now 10 pounds is enough. (By: El Libano amazon.com)
